According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, 41-year-old Serge Emile Casimir of Miramar, FL was extradited from Florida to Jackson County. Officials said Casimir allegedly created a false identity and business and scammed the small business out of around $26,000.
Casimir's initial appearance in County Court was held Tuesday. His bond was set at $15,000 by Judge Wilson. If Casimir is convicted he could face up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
